Hiya, complete newbie here, I'll be starting uni in October. ^^ Assuming I get in, I'll be studying Nat Sci at Grey. Nice to meet you all!
Joined the forum mostly because I'm starting to plan for October MCM Expo, anyone else going and how are you getting there?
Watched a -lot- of anime, including Bleach, Death Note, Chobits, Ouran HSHC, FMA and Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (kind of given up with the Bleach though, it's too long and I got into it too late). My favourite Japanese artists are Yui and Younha.

Awesome Hiya and welcome to the forums! Um...hopefully there will be news on that soon so do watch this space. Also might I say nice choices, a few of my favorites in there. Have you been watching Haruhi's endless eight arc by any chance?

YES WATCH THIS SPACE INDEED.
Welcome welcome, you've chosen a good time to join the forum, it's become a lot more lively of late... hope to hear from you muchly! Recent graduate here, so you won't see much of me, but hopefully the Expo is on the cards... do these plans you speak of involve cosplay?
And Doc, don't get started on the endless recursion of time... we'll be here all day....

Yes, the plans hopefully include multiple cosplays ^^ Depends if I actually get around to making them but one is presentable and the others are well into the planning stages. I want to finish them before October if possible to save dragging the sewing machine to Durham. Augh, Endless Eight I got to the fourth or so episode before giving up, but I'll watch them all eventually, I guess.

Ah! Another member of the Grey Army to look forwards to! You might see me quite a bit in Fresher's week, as I'll be a very stressed techy.
I'm going to attempt going to MCM Expo in October too, although that's dependant on how much money I make over the summer (because I'm saving up mostly for AX10 and SDCC10). If I do go, it will be by train (the most regular trains passing through Durham are the Edinburgh to Kings Cross and vice versa so it's not a problem), because being driven/driving to London is a tiring nightmare.
I approve of Chobits, it was the first manga I ever read, and MHS, because I think it's awesome.

Hi, both of you! Of course I won't run away screaming, I embrace the crazy Ah, good to hear that someone else is going! I've been looking at the train prices and it doesn't sound too bad, I want someone to go with for the company, 'tis all. I think driving down might be okay if there were enough people to stop it being boring and take turns with driving, I don't know. *cannot drive*

I think driving down might be okay if there were enough people to stop it being boring and take turns with driving, I don't know. *cannot drive* I can drive, but I refuse to drive to and around London, just because I hate traffic jams and bottlenecks and road collisions (and londoners are pretty scary drivers!). The train is much nicer, you can sit in a prebooked seat and you don't have to strap yourself down and you can get up and waltz to the loo whenever you need it instead of having to wait for the next motorway stopoff thing, and there are power outlets so if you have a table seat you can bring out your laptop and use the onboard wi-fi and charge it up and aaaah I love the train~

If so there are plans for us to stay in a hostel all together (one big party room yeah XD) We had a meeting but it was short notice and some people may not have been free :-D All the details are in the expo thread. Another newbie is confirmed to be coming too so you shant be the only one there on your lonesome :-)
