Just was wondering if any of you owned any anime esked games for anything?
Recently picked up a copy of "Melty Blood" (PC) (as odd as the name is its based around Lunar Legend Tsukihime, pretty intresting fighting game, all pixel characters however its surprising how fluid the gameplay is)
Also one of THE best fighting games ive played per say "Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4" (GameCube) - Imported this last term, such an epic fighting game, even for if you havent watched naruto.
Also on a side note there is DBZ Budokai 3 but we wont be talking about that too much...
Yeah anywho do you guys own anything?

I don't think I'll try to beat that list. Ever.
I have Grandia 2, Soul Calibur 2, Pokémon roms of the main GB/GBC/GBA games, Yu-Gi-Oh! Power of Chaos Yugi the Destiny, several Yu-Gi-Oh! GBA roms, several old Sonic the Hedgehog games (roms), and that's about it.

I wouldnt be pushed to say Chrono Trigger was far off my favourite game ive played yet, close second was final fantasy 6 (alas never completed it though) Just as a little extra, (I hate square for this) Chrono Resurection - it was going to be a fully 3d remade version of Chrono trigger until square made them shut it down... Anywho watch the video of how far they did get: www.opcoder.com/projects/chrono/

you don't have to use the DS mic though; it is only a port (with an extra bit thrown in) of a GBA game. all you really have to do is press a button to get the "objection" or "hold it" bits to come in; i've never got the voice-rec to work anyway. but you have to play it; it has a fantastic sense of humour

Objection 1Objection 2You can pre-order the next game on Play-Asia. It works out cheaper than waiting for it to come out in Europe. ^_^ Hello, btw. I hope you don't mind me crashing this board. Not being an actual member of the society. I'm Durham alumni though; Comp Sci, St. Mary's, from a few years ago. I'm not really so objectionable.

Ah, sorry for gatecrashing this board. I just want to tell everyone in the world that the next Phoenix Wright game - an extremely text-heavy game, Japanese release - comes with an English option. It's so fantastic that every human being on the planet who is able to play this game ought to know about it!
That's all I wanted to say.
Oh, and you got Xenogears and Xenosaga mixed up in the big list. And missed off a bunch of stuff. Like the Suikoden, Wild Arms, and Shadow Hearts games... some great RPGs...
Ok, I'll go away now. ;D

So of the few new forum members one isn't a Soc. member and isn't in Durham anymore. (Welcome, anyway.)
I probably ought to say something on-topic, but I lack Mu-chan's appetite for lists. (Mu-chan, do let us know when one of your creations makes it into Guinness World Records. By the way: Chrono Trigger and Cross, but no Radical Dreamers? Or was that one of the omissions?) I had a post in mind about what exactly would constitute an anime-esque or anime-related game (e.g. the relevance of Star Ocean EX to classifying The Second Story and by extension Blue Sphere; the importance of animated FMV cut-scenes being added to Chrono Trigger and removed from Lunar in Lunar Legend; etc.) but maybe I'll spare you that.

You kind of sound like you're in a bad mood... Um... no, not at all. I didn't say you were obsessed, and I wasn't being critical, though no doubt what I wrote could be read that way.

Hmmm... I go in for reading stuff like plot analysis, name derivation theories, Zelda timeline theories, etc. (though not always with great seriousness; I suspect it was taking the subject entirely seriously that led Glen Morrow to his eventual burnout) so I have grotesque problems finding time for actually playing games and especially for exploring in detail, and then for absorbing the surrounding material. On that basis I can say I like the Famicom FFIV... precisely because it doesn't exist [EDIT: I should clarify: that's because it makes for an interesting series history article, not because I'm spared having to play it.]. FFVII has... superb debug rooms. I'm also playing through Sword of Mana at present, and much of the enjoyment is coming from the 'Hang on... that's not how it happened before... weren't you dead by this point in the original Seiken Densetsu/ FF Adventure?' moments.

I noticed that Disgaea 2 is out now; I saw it in the shops... comes with a free audio CD too ^_^
Does anyone know if the game's dual language this time? All the European releases of N1 games have been English-only while the American versions have been either Japanese / English selectable...

Bah! Now that I've seen that I'll have to finish Tales of Symphonia over the Easter holiday, but I'm still only on the first disc... ^_^"
