since all the characters in x have some sort of control over one element or another, if you had to choose what element you could control at will, what would you go for? i would have to say fire, because it is the burniest of all the elements have to admit though, that i would absolutely adore to have inuki like yuzuriha does; i simply love that! incidentally, i also think i would fall to the side of the dragons of heaven. even though kanoe does rock

yeah fire's good, I'm not quite sure what all the elements are, is this based on the old four elements theory?
personally if it comes to which side you'll be on I really can't see myself fighting for heaven, people who do that always wind up dieing (martyres always die painfully!)

i use elements in it's loosest term...just means anything spiritual really; there are wind, fire, earth and water users in x, but kamui's power seems to stem on pure psychic energy, whilst the sakurazukamori's is based on illusion... and there are the two sword wielders (arashi and yuzuriha). basically anything magical to be fair though, satsuki's powers are anything but magical...but to avoid confusion and later debate, let's just call them that

though water is immensly powerful, but I guess you have to be near a water source to use it to it's full pottential as for the old four elements theory, has anything held up the advancement of science more in known history?

*Recycles Terry Pratchett joke*
The element of surrpise.
The problem with the five elements theory (four from the presocratic era for sublunary stuff, plus the luminiferous aether for celestial stuff) wasn't the theory itself, but the institutional mediaeval belief that anything Aristotle had said had to be true.

lol, and as my degree permits me to point out, aristotle did not have everything right but he did make exceptionally valuable contributions to science and thought in the ancient world. but socrates was better, cause he fought in battles and stuff anyhoo, BUMP

electricity? could that be an element in this case? if so, i'm gonna have that one. then i could go 'zappp', and 'ztttt' and 'dzzz' and other sounds that have lots of z's and no vowels.
did anyone see that x-files where the guy had the power of electricity. he was evil, but i would use my power for the good of mankind, like if someone was stuck on a desert island with bread and a toaster but no socket, i'd fly there (oh yeah, i can fly too) and go 'ttttzzzzddddzzzz' and his toaster will be able to toast. and he'd be like 'wow' and i'd be like 'yeah, i'm cool', and he'd be 'yeah, you're cool', and i'd be 'yeah', and fly off. then he'd shout 'wait, save me! fly me home!', and i'd be like 'i can't hear you', but i can really, i just want to have a little bit of evil in me. i'd probably tell the coast guard or something.
oh, and whenever i did an attack on a dragon of the earth/heaven (i'm not sure which i want to be yet, i'm getting very confused as to who is on who's side), i'd say keeee-paaaah-chuuu!

If i can go for anything, I call time. I want the ability to pause, rewind and fast-forward time, then reach out and change stuff. That'll do me just fine ;D

well, it certainly wasn't religious intolerance (that was an excuse after the fact to justify it) but he was probably put on trial because of his connections to critias (critias was one of his pupils) and thus the incredibly unpopular oligarchic regime established in athens by sparta after the peloponnesian war, which was exceptionally oppressive and resulted in the murder of citizens. anything a pupil says the teacher can be blamed for. if my memory serves correctly anyways...BUMP
