Evangelion is an interesting one withthe subed/dubbed dilema. Asuka is immensely annoying in English, but even worse in the japanese.
for other entertainment, get the dvd of eppisode 14 (I think, the one with the thirteenth angel anyway) and the scream at the end of the eppisode, is fairly normal in English, absolutely terrifying in the japanese, and the spanish has some guy going "aarg"

it all comes down to a matter of opinion, however voice acting is only a part which admitidly should not be overlooked however the actual show is very good, if you can find a subbed version great, really it would be. However outlaw star is 26 episodes long, and deserves a chance at least in my opinion to be show.

I saw the dubs of Nadesico and Evangelion on the Sci Fi channel. I didn't think they were too bad, but I did get irritated with them at points.
I guess I was just glad to have some anime to watch, because back then, TV was pretty much my only source of anime, which was really really awful! I think it's gotten worse recently though. I can't find any anime to watch when I do have acccess to a tv.

I can't find any anime to watch when I do have acccess to a tv. Here here! Although I do watch Yu-Gi-Oh! sometimes, and Dragonball Z just because it was one of the first ones I got into. Remember that Saiko Exciting! program? I won one of the competitions they had. Got a couple of episodes of Kimagure Orange Road OVA and the whole of Genesis Survivor Gaiarth (both on tape), a Skuld statuette, some Dragonball Z/GT miniposters and a shirt. Best, and just about only thing I ever won.

I think Dragonball Z is the first anime I saw, and i'm still totally in love with it! I must have seen all of it several times through, and there are so many episodes! I kinda miss watching it every day ... it's a pity they stopped showing it on cartoon network.

I never really got into Dragonball, or Dragonball GT as much though. It all got a bit samey after a while ... and too much of a good thing is still bad!

First anime I ever saw was Dragonballz however had seen numerous Manga films before hand (one really odd one about a guy who got these odd powers and had these really creepy creatures with small red eyes following him) there was also something about stone eggs and a scene near a waterfall, it was too long ago to remember fully.
I think Akira was the first manga I saw actually!

... there was also something about stone eggs and a scene near a waterfall... Wasn't that Indiana Jones? The first animé I saw was way back when I was a little person. Samurai Pizza Cats. I remember loving it, and always playing around with umbrellas. Didn't remember anything specific at all, though, except for what the title suggests. I mistakenly downloaded it recently from somewhere, and watched the first couple of episodes. I shouldn't have done. It... Yeah. Things are so much better at an age when half a mile down the road is a different world.

First animé I ever saw, as a lot of people's, was Dragonball Z. After that Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, Cowboy Beebop. Mostly the ones I could find on Cartoon Network. One of the first full-length films I ever saw that wasn't dubbed was Ichi the Killer. I wouldn't advise it as something to show friends you've only just made though :S
Has anyone seen GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) or owned it ever? I have the books but have never been able to find the animé anywhere, at least not on DVD in this country.

When I first read this thread I thought it was asking for the anime we owned on actual official DVDs or whatnot, in which case I would have been extremely limited in my response, being limited to a couple of disks of Azumanga Daioh and Ghost in the Shell =P
Including downloaded however, here's mine. All episodes unless otherwise stated, and most burnt off onto DVD.
Azumanga Daioh (best.thing.ever) .hack//SIGN, .hack//DUSK. .hack//LIMINALITY (or whatever you want to call it) Last Exile Chobits Full Metal Alchemist Naruto up to ep 150 (meh..) Inuyasha up to season 3 (again, meh..) Elfen Lied Kyou Kara Maou Bottle Fairy Witch Hunter Robin Neon Genesis Evangelion + Movies Tenchi Muyo Di Gi Charat (not nyo) Saikano Ghost in the Shell Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence Ghost in the Shell : Stand Alone Complex (1st and 2nd GIGs) Ai Yori Aoshi Kannazuki no Miko His & Her Circumstances <!-- Insert ones I've forgotten -->
Various studio Ghibli movies: Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, Neko no Ongaeshi, (I wonder why I use the Japanese title for that one.. heh,) My Neighbour Totoro, Porco Rosso, Pom Poko, Spirited Away, Nausicaa.
Yeah, there's a fair few uber-kawaii and romance type ones in there, what can I say =P
As for Manga, I don't read it whatsoever, and doubt I ever will. Where reading is concerned then for me it's novels for the win, every time. =)
