hi guys, I have managed to book a room at Collingwood for this Friday (21.11.08). It is from 7pm to 9:30 pm. It is called the Dales Suite and we should probably meet at the front entrance at five to seven. Someone will need to bring their laptop with the anime, as we have got a data projector (I'll text the relevant peeps). If anyone doesn't know the way to Collingwood EMAIL ME. xx

TOASTIE BAR CRAWL!!!
This Saturday. 7:30pm at Mary's College Bar.
Prize for the most exciting toastie!
Cosplay optional. If you're low on ideas, or want to generically dress up, then the loose theme is Video Games (feel free to ignore it if you have a better idea though!)
The premise is thus: at a bar crawl, one crawls from bar to bar drinking. At a toastie bar crawl, we wander from toastie bar to toastie bar (crawling would be too undignified and take too long) and consume toasties! With interesting and exciting combinations! Like toastie cocktails?

The meetings this term will be back in the same rooms on the same days of the week, at the same times as last term. That's the Ustinov Room in Van Mildert College and The Old Library in Grey College. Meetings in the Ustinov Room commence from the 20th January. The Old Library isn't confirmed yet, but I anticipate for meetings to commence there on either the Friday that is the 22nd or the 29th. The anime I have chosen for this term are: - Claymore www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=7028- Spice and Wolf I & II www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=8537- Umineko no Naku Koro ni www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=10168- Gallian (Valkyria) Chronicles www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=10416And the second series of Code Geass to be shown over a double-marathon at some point. Remember that as with everything I show, I HAVE NOT SEEN THEM (except a bit of Umineko) so even now if you have any concerns about the me showing any of these, and you reckon you've got something that's loads better, then please say. Otherwise I'm pretty confident that these'll be crackers.

A copy of the e-mail, for anyone who didn't get it: Hey everyone, hope you're not revising too hard. It's a bit late, but here's what's happening with animesoc this term: There are no official meetings before or during exam periods, that is, the first 6 weeks of term. Instead we shall be having semi-formal meetings on Fridays before exams, in Old Library if we can book it and in Becky's room otherwise - come to Grey in any case and someone will be around to show you where to go. One suggestion is to show Hanamaru Kindergarten (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=10896) - any other suggestions greatly appreciated! After exams, meetings resume as normal. We'll also be going all-out with socials, movie nights, beach episode and many more to look forward to. If there's any dates that you would specifically like to avoid after exams for animesoc events, E-mail guanmei.wang@durham.ac.uk. Finally, the London MCM expo is coming up on 29-30 May. For now, we'd like to know roughly how many people are interested in going. E-mail me at guanmei.wang@durham.ac.uk if you are interested! For details, see the official website: www.londonexpo.com/Good luck with your exams! Mona =====Message from Adam and Becky===== Greetings from your new president(s)! We both hope that you've had a nice relaxing holiday (and not been stuck abroad, like one of us). Hope revision isn't too harsh, and that the revision lectures are helping; we're both actually going to ours this term! Of course, we can't work constantly, so we each do a bit of procrastinatory anime-watching. We're sure to see at least a few of you on our regular daily business, but if not, we'll hopefully see you all on Friday. ===================================== tl;dr: - No official meetings before or during exams. - Informal meetings Fridays in Grey's - E-mail me at guanmei.wang@durham.ac.uk whether or not you'd like to attend the MCM expo
